This message goes to the participants to this extraordinary historical. -WORLD SEPHARDI CONGRESS and to the friends of peace and of Israeli people here in Spain, a country at last converted to a democratic acknowledgment of the errors and injustices of the past against its own Jews and against our Muslim cousins 5 centuries ago. This absolutely non-diplomatic introduction is meant to be a positive provocation to today's Spain and to its farsighted leaders led by its very democratic King Juan Carlos and by its enlighten Prime Minister Mr. Aznar. They should all take this opportunity to welcome the gratitude of our Sephardi community for the in heritage of the last 500 years jealously kept and cultivated as a token of distinction as much as our Arab-Jewish language has become a passport for a profitable coexistence with our Muslim cousins in the hospitable Ottoman land before, and later in North Africa and Middle East. I therefore invite the Spanish people and the Spanish leadership to unilaterally stipulate a pact of long-lasting friendship, for at least 500 more years to come, with both Hebraism and Islam once banished like plagues and to readmit them as most precious guests and honorary citizens of Spain. Together with my democratic Italy reborn from the ashes of nazi-fascism, I dare count on our sister Spain to re-launch the new Marshall Pain 11 for peace between my people and the Arab people, with the crucial contribution of our Christian brothers in the name of our common father Abraham.
